A website is not one purchase. The address, the company that registers it, the records that point it somewhere, and the place the pages actually live are four separate things, usually from two or three different companies. Most of the confusion around going live is not knowing which is which.
None of them is hard. They just need to be set up once, in the right order, in your name.

$16 to $50 USD a month on Squarespace or Wix. $20 to $150 a month for managed WordPress. Often invoiced through an agency at a markup.
About $10 to $30 USD a month on Framer’s published plans, which include hosting, SSL, and a free custom domain on annual billing.

SSL certificate
Usually included now, but some hosts still sell it as a $50 to $100 a year add-on.
Included with Framer hosting. Nothing to buy, nothing to renew.

DNS and domain setup
$75 to $250 as a one-off setup fee, or folded into a monthly retainer.
